Up-to-date on all things safety

Offering in-house training for a safer driver

Newry Coach Lines is one of only a few busing companies that offer in-house B and Z courses for their staff. This is not a common (nor standard) practice in the busing industry due to its lengthy process and the requirement of a trained professional that is adequately up-to-date in all areas of government policies. To ensure our passengers and bus drivers are always safe on the road, our drivers are required to complete the following safety courses:

  • CPR and First Aid (mandatory)

  • Disability Training (encouraged)

We are always updating drivers on the latest safety information to ensure our passengers are in good hands, along with conducting Police Background Checks, Vulnerable Sector Checks, and medical checks by a doctor on all of our NCL drivers.

Aside from offering mandatory safety training, we also offer the following courses to all our Newry Coach Lines bus drivers:

B and Z Courses

Our B and Z courses are approved by the Certified Ministry of Transportation and ensure all of our drivers are up to date about road safety.

Air Brake Endorsement Course

Approved by MTO, the Air Brake Endorsement course for buses is approximately 40 to 50 hours of in-house classes and bus training.

Our Buses are about Industry Standards

NCL goes beyond the baseline to ensure the best safety

To ensure every ride is safe and enjoyable, our buses go through an extensive safety check every day. If ever something goes wrong, our expert maintenance team is ready to fix the problem.

Aside from our daily check-ins, our buses go through specific checks annually, including two separate grease and oil changes, two standard government inspections, and a complete system check. We also go above and beyond and undercoat our buses every summer to minimize rust and electrical issues that can arise by the dirt and debris under the bus.
